About the Item
Nicole Frères music box with rare "mandoline setting"
A beautiful and highly collectible Nicole Frères music box, featuring the rare and sought-after mandoline setting — a special technique where selected comb teeth are struck in rapid succession to create a sparkling, mandolin-like effect.
The wooden case is decorated with wood grain simulation on the sides and features inlaid exotic woods on the lid. The interior is finished in rich red lacquer.
The mechanism is wound via a lever on the left, with three control knobs on the right.
It plays six melodies in mandoline style, exactly as listed on the original tune card.
Serial number 41570 appears on the upper right of the bedplate, on the tune card, and underneath the case.
