About the Item

pelican candy jar blown glass beautiful candy dish, very collectible motif: pelican in blown glass has its original paint some wear due to its age Origin Argentina Circa 1940 Materials glass and bakelite It was produced for the meli Argentina confectionery Art deco style Art deco1 (Spanish art deco) was a popular design movement from 1920 to 1939 (whose influence extends to the 1950s in some countries) that influenced the world's decorative arts such as architecture, interior design and graphic and industrial design; also the visual arts such as fashion, painting, engraving, sculpture and cinematography. Following the 1900 Paris World's Fair, several French artists (Hector Guimard, Eugène Grasset, Raoul Lachenal, Paul Follot, Maurice Dufrène and Émile Decour) formed a formal collective dedicated to avant-garde decorative arts. In 1925 they organized the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris, and called themselves the Moderns; in fact, the term art deco was coined at the retrospective entitled "Les Années 25", held in Paris at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (Museum of Decorative Arts) from March 3 to May 16, 1966;2 the term is therefore an abbreviation of the French word décoratif. In the Spanish-speaking world, the RAE has standardized it as art déco
