About the Item
Original Scandinavian antique chest box from 1846, most likely from Sweden where we found it.
The chest box is made from pine wood and is handpainted. The paint is in warm brown shades and also illudes wood. It has worn off here and there and faded over the years. The box might have been a love gift or an engagement gift and the handpainted letters might be initials of the couple and the year 1846 the year of the engagement or the year it was given as a gift.
The box is decorative on a table or a chest and can be used for storage of treasures, love letters and other things.
