About the Item
A beautiful silver box with blue glass liner & with fine miniature in watercolour of a young woman. The miniature surrounded with silver swags & wreaths & the cover with engine turning. The base of the box having a heavy rim decorated with egg & dart while the centre with flowing swags & rosettes. Underside of the case, and lid, Austrian silver marks and marked G.A.S. for the maker George Adam Scheid, a Austrian silversmith and jeweller, who worked in Vienna and Stuttgart and retired by 1911.
