The perfect Black Forest leaf and flower patterns on the sides too are the work of a master carver. To give the hand carved flowers and deer sculptures an even more natural look and feel, the artisan has also completely hand-hammered the background with an awl-like tool. We have no key to this wonderful antique box, but it opens and shuts beautifully and it does have two brass 'clams' on the front. Please also read our item description.
