    A Swedish 19th Century folk art box with the original paint. This box painted with a floral decoration has the initial "A S D" before the date of 1815. It was most certainly a bridal gift that was according to the Swedish tradition of always marking wedding presents. The ASD refers "The Daughter of A S (eg father Anders Svensson). The final "D" refers to daughter, which says that the box has belonged to a female person, the daughter of a man with the initials "A" for the first name and the initial "S" for the surname.
