A rare stone chest shaped like a book, crafted circa 1840-1870 Made of solid carved Swedish limestone (Öland) with a top nobb in alabaster. The craftsmanship of this heavy piece is truly exquisite, it shows the level of detail and the considerable amount of time and skill to accomplish such a object. Its a rare beauty crafted from Swedish stone. Different models of similar chests exist in Bohuslän as early as the 1800s and are represented in museums.
