About the Item

A Swedish dowry box presented to the bride by her parents on the occasion of her marriage, decorated with homemade pigments in traditional folk-art patterns in faded grey blues and salmon pinks on a wave painted ground, having desirable flat top with blacksmith-made wrought iron strap hinges. Old shrinkage gap in top. A beautiful decorative piece.
