Beautiful brass plated abalone seashell square box with wood lined compartment. Stamped underneath “Taxco Mexico" a region of Mexico known for their unique and one of a kind metal works. The patina adds a grounding element to the glistening and multi color abalone shells. The design of a fish head in brass appears on the lid adding extra artistry to such a unique piece. One long hinge along lid allows it to open and close with ease. Incredible piece to add to your organic modern decor. Vintage item circa 1960s.
