Vintage Veuve Clicquot Mail Collection Clutch Champagne Holder

About the Item

Introducing the captivating Clicquot Clutch an exquisite reinterpretation of the classic envelope purse. This resplendent yellow carrier was crafted in France circa 2010, and is adorned with elegant brown leather piping, which exudes sophistication. Its smooth, filleted edges lead to a convenient brown leather wristlet, allowing effortless transport while on the go. The inside is a contoured bottle shape and is insulated to ensure the Champagne stays cool inside for up too one hour. This stylish and collectable piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use. Written on the inside "Since its foundation in 1772, the house of Veuve Clicuot has been dispatching its wine beyond the borders of France. Within ten years, it had reached Europe and the United States. Quill in hand, Madame Clicquot wrote the history of Maison, establishing connections troughout the world. Thousands of letters were exchanged, between Reims, New York, Saint Petersburg, Hong Kong, Sydney... Veuve Cliquot pays tribute to its history be reinventing the concept of correspondence with the joyful twist that characterises our Maison". Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin is a French Champagne house based in Reims. It was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot and is one of the largest champagne houses in the world. Madame Clicquot is credited with major breakthroughs, creating the first known vintage champagne in 1810, and inventing the riddling table process to clarify champagne in 1816. In 1818, she invented the first known blended rosé champagne by blending still red and white champagne wines. This process is still used today by the majority of champagne producers. During the Napoleonic Wars, Madame Clicquot made strides in establishing her wine in royal courts throughout Europe, notably that of Imperial, Russia. She played an important role in establishing champagne as a favored drink of high society and nobility throughout Europe. The house has borne its distinctive yellow label since the late 19th century. The company was purchased in 1986 by Louis Vuitton (now part of the LVMH group formed in 1987) and continues to expand worldwide. Measures: 14.5"W x 4"D x 9.5"H
