About the Item
Extremely rare and eye catching antique French glass dome, from around 1900 and made of mouth-blown glass. The dome-shaped beautiful glass is placed on an oval dark hand-carved wooden base, with small spherical feet and a recess for the glass.
This very large dome has been used as a wedding memento exhibit case (globe de mariée) to display memories from the wedding such as jewellery, wax flowers from the bridal wreath, photographs, etc.
This appears completely original and very well maintained with a velour upholstered cushion raised on a foot, gilded frame with numerous decorations of leaves, birds, flowers and small charming mirror ornaments.
Measures: H 55 x W 36 X D 23 cm
