About the Item

A true work of art, this stunning 19th-century Black Forest jewelry box from Switzerland is fully hand-carved and a remarkable example of craftsmanship. Nearly 150 years old, the wood has developed a rich patina that only enhances its charm. Carved from a single block of wood, the box features beautifully detailed, large flowers artfully arranged across the surface, with a bird nestled next to a nest of eggs on the lid. The 4 corners are all openly carved, something only the highest skilled woodcarvers could achieve. Inside. The inside of the jewelry box was replaced with leather some 60-70 years ago it matches the look and feel of the piece quite well. This jewelry box comes without a key as the look has been removed during its long life. This exquisite piece is not only a functional item but also a captivating work of art, perfect for collectors or as a statement piece in any home.
