Modern Storage Bins from the 1926 Frankfurt Kitchen/Bauhaus

A scarce set of five different food storage bins designed by the Viennese architect Grete Schutte-Lihotsky for the Frankfurt Kitchen. Lihotsky was interested in creating a modern standardized kitchen that was both inexpensive and efficient for the vast number of Frankfurt housing projects. The Frankfurt Kitchen was an important forerunner of the modern fitted kitchen. (See Wikipedia for a more detailed description and photo of the Frankfurt Kitchen.) Examples of these storage bins are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
