Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Suitcase Vesta Case
About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English sterling silver vesta case in the form of a suitcase; an addition to our Victorian silverware collection
This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver vesta case is realistically modelled in the form of a suitcase.
The surface of the body is embellished with details reproducing the features of the suitcase's straps, buckles, handle and rivets.
The anterior surface of the luggage is ornamented with an impressive hot enamel panel replicating the overlaid travel label incorporating the elucidating wording 'Mid RV, Bath'.
This exceptional and rare silver vesta case is fitted with a hinged cover to one end; this utilises the raised strap as a rounded thumbpiece.
The case opens to reveal the original gilding.
This impressive sterling silver vesta case has an applied oval serrated panel/match striker to the underside.
Condition
This rare silver vesta case is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the rim are all very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the superior gauge of silver.
