A magnificent, fine impressive pair of antique George IV English cast sterling silver candlesticks made by Robert Garrard II; an addition of our ornamental silverware collection These magnificent antique George IV cast silver candlesticks, in sterling standard, have a baluster shaped form with a waisted knopped stem onto a shaped base. The bulbous capitals are embellished floral and foliate decoration accented with interlacing ivy vines, all on a matte background. The capitals are fitted with the original hallmarked detachable sconces ornamented scrolling leaf and floral ornamentation to the shaped rim in addition to a matte texture and plain scalloped decorated border. The upper portion of each column is encompassed with a magnificent eagle design peering around the side of a grotesque lion style mask. The lower knops are encircled with further naturalistic ornamentation flanked with fluted decoration in a swirl design and tiered quilted motifs. A fine pair of vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver two-light candelabra in the George I style; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. These fine vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver candelabra have a plain circular form, in the George I style. Each impressive two-light candelabrum retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit scrolling arms, which support two rounded waisted capitals with plain circular dished drip pans. These versatile vintage candelabra can be used as candlesticks once the arms (labra) are detached. The knopped stems are surmounted on sunken wells, to tooled decorated circular spreading bases. The filled bases retain the original leatherette covering to the underside. The base of each was made by Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd and the labra were crafted by William Bruford & Son; these items will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system the bases are struck with the date letter 'd' and the labra bear 'e'. The capitals surmount an exceptional chased double-sided figural bust decorated knop.
