About the Item

19th century French gilt bronze 7-Light Louis XVI candelabra in the manner of Jean-Charles Delafosse (1734-1789) The tapering stem standing on a circular base cast with foliage and decorated with lion heads holding festoons with their teeth. The central baluster-shaped stem, which is surrounded by six s-shaped foliated candle arms holding circular nozzles with removable drip pans, is surmounted by a nozzel holding a removable flame. An attractive Louis XVI-candelabra with a judicious contrast of highly polished and textured surface areas providing a lively play of light and shade.
