About the Item
Pair of Peerage Brass Telescopic Candelabra, England, Early 20th Century
Marked “Peerage England” to base
Description:
A finely crafted pair of four-light telescopic candelabra by Peerage Brass, England, dating to the first half of the 20th century. Each candelabrum features an adjustable candle arm assembly that raises and lowers along the central stem, allowing for customizable display heights. The design is both functional and ornamental, reflecting early Georgian and Edwardian lighting styles.
The elegantly turned standards are anchored by broad circular bases, providing a refined sense of balance. The looped arms and polished drip pans exhibit classic English styling, with each piece stamped “Peerage England” to the underside.
About Peerage Brass:
Founded in England in the early 20th century, Peerage Brass became well known for its finely made domestic brassware, particularly candlesticks, candelabra, door knockers, and fireside accessories. Their designs often drew upon historical English forms, merging durability with decorative appeal. Peerage was a popular brand for export and upscale retail throughout the UK and Commonwealth markets until ceasing production in the late 20th century.
