Spanish Medieval Iron Candle Holder in Hand Forged Gilt Iron

About the Item

Terrific hand forged iron primitive three-light candelabras in Medieval style with parcel-gilt accents. Spain, 18th-19th century It is supported by four legs with claw ending feet. It has a primitive construction, naturalistic design and a dramatic aged patina retaining some rests of its antique gold leaf gilding. Entirely made by hand with hand forged iron, the work of the hammer is eye-catching, strong and primitive but very elegant. This piece will be a strong statement to be placed as central candelabra for a candlelight dinner or placed on a side table or console table to enjoy the charming ambiance of the candle lights. Candles not included. Measures: 51 cm W x 19 cm D x 16 cm H.

Pair of Hand Forged 18th Century Spanish Iron Torchere Candle Holders

Full of charm and character, this pair of iron torchere candle holders were hand-forged in Spain during the 1700s. The visible strike marks made by the blacksmith, along with the flattened pin that affixes the highly scrolled arms add subtle nuances to the 21-inch tall candlesticks. At the end of each arm is a torch-like light sconce with a banded noix at the bottom, topped by a flat bobeche with a thin rim and a folded cylindrical capital. Rising a few inches above is a third light source with an identical bobeche and capital that extends from the central column.
