Hans Harry Liebmann, Pair Art Deco Bronze Draped Male Greco-Roman Candelabra

About the Item

Hans Harry Liebmann, Pair Art Deco Bronze Draped Male Greco-Roman Candelabra Artist: Hans Harry Liebmann, Berlin, 1876-1941 Studied at the Dresden Art Academy under Julius Schilling, in 1899 he won the Great Saxonian State Award. An exceptional pair of Art Deco Bronze Draped Male Figural Candelabra, by the esteemed German artist Hans Harry Liebmann (1876-1941) from Berlin. Liebmann, a student of Julius Schilling at the Dresden Art Academy, was celebrated for his exceptional artistry, having earned the prestigious Great Saxonian State Award in 1899. Each candelabra, created in the Greco-Roman Classical style, features a finely cast and modeled standing man atop a ball, characterized by a bare chest and draped loin. Each figure extends both arms, elegantly holding removable candle bobeche, while balancing a single candle bobeche on their heads. These pieces stand on tapering 5-inch diameter waisted pedestals and are signed "H. Liebmann" with an incised signature. Notably, each candelabra shows evidence of previous electrification near the signature, with a plugged drill hole. They were previously electrified and can be re-electrified if desired. Their remarkable workmanship and historical significance, combined with Liebmann's artistry, make these candelabra a striking addition to any collection or space, inviting admiration for their beauty. Please inquire for further details regarding electrification.
