Pair of Early 19th Century Candelabras in Gilded and Patinated Bronze

About the Item

Pair of three-branched candelabras in gilded and patinated bronze. They each feature a winged, patinated bronze cupid who is standing on a sphere and holding a torch with three candle branches. These patinated lateral arms are decorated with scrolling foliage and are symmetrically interspaced around the central arm, which is adorned with vegetal patterns and fluting. The gilded sockets are decorated with scales. They stand on a vase-shaped base which is also decorated with scales and palmettes and rests on a square, patinated plinth, circa 1820 Dimensions: W 7.9 in, D 3.9 in, H 20.9 in.
