Rare pair of Irish Late Georgian giltwood candelabra of Socrates and Plato. Carved and gilt wooden bases and classical Romantic arches with laurel leafed iron arms issuing from neoclassical urn. Figure of Socrates and Plato in bronzed plaster typical of the Adams period moving into the early 19th century. Original paint and gilding.
