Pair of French 19th Century Louis XIV St. Ormolu and Crystal Candelabras
About the Item
A stunning and extremely high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XIV st. ormolu, Baccarat crystal, and rock crystal candelabras. Each six arm candelabra is raised by a triangular base with fine fluted feet and exceptional richly chased sphinges and acanthus leaves in a superb satin and burnished finish. The mottled central support displays finely detailed wrap around berried laurel garlands and an elegantly curved design from where the scrolled arms branch out. Each arm is adorned with finely detailed acanthus leaves, and kite and scalloped shaped crystal pendants leading to exceptional rock crystal bobeches and lovely candle cups. The central fut is encased with the most impressive rock crystal casings below beautiful scrolled sprays with fine crystal balls and a spectacular mottled rock crystal dagger.
