About the Item
A striking and large scale true pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. patinated Bronze and Ormolu candelabras. Each nine arm candelabra is raised on a uniquely shaped pierced Ormolu stepped pedestal with scrolling foliates designs, floral decorations, and a central bow. Above the bases are two patinated Bronze cherubs dressed in flowing garments with one child holding an Ormolu bushel of berried vine. The joyful cherubs are leaning against an Ormolu tree made of nine wandering branches. Each of the wandering branches ends with flower buds serving as candle cups. This wonderful pair displays exquisite details and showcase an exceptional attention to detail throughout.
