Pair of French Early 19th Century Louis XVI Style Candelabras
About the Item
A stunning true pair of French early 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze, white Carrara marble and ormolu three arm candelabras. Each candelabra is raised by a square base below a circular pedestal decorated with ormolu twisted ribbon trim, swaging floral garlands and a beaded top band. Each charming patinated bronze cherub is standing on one foot holding up the ormolu arms with both hands. The sensational ormolu arms display fine rinceau patterns with latifolia and foliate candle cups centering the fut with acorn finial and a serpent, all in a satin and burnished finish. All original patina and gilt.
