Pair of French Mid-19th Century Louis XVI Style Five Arm Candelabras
About the Item
An exquisite pair of French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and rock crystal candelabras. Each beautiful six arm candelabra is raised by a fine elegantly curved foliate support at the front with elegant topie shaped feet at each side. A finely chased berried laurel band extends along the base below the socle shaped and circular tapered support flanked by impressive and most decorative scrolled elements and adorned with additional beautiful berried laurel garlands. Above the urn shaped centers are elegantly scrolled arms each adorned with large acanthus leaves and stunning kite shaped rock crystal pendants leading to fine candle cups and bobeches. The outer arms center a single candle cup decorated in the same manner with a striking removable eternal flame finial. All original gilt throughout.
