Pair of French Mid-19th Century Louis XVI Style Marble and Ormolu Candelabras
About the Item
A handsome pair of French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. white Carrara marble and ormolu candelabras. Each is raised by a square marble base above four topie chased ormolu supports. Above is a white Carrara urn decorated by richly chased floral garlands joined by two round handles on each side. The four 'C' scrolled twisted arms are decorated with acanthus leaves. At the center is a fifth arm that has a removable eternal flame finialthus rendering it into a candle cup. Fine detail and all original gilt throughout.
