Pair of French Mid-19th Century Patinated Bronze and Ormolu Candelabra Statues

About the Item

An extraordinary and large scale true pair of French mid 19th century patinated bronze and ormolu candelabra statues. Each impressive candelabra is raised by a circular base where the finely detailed figures of Nubians are standing. Each is dressed in classical attire with wrap around skirts and their hair braided and tied with a headband. They are facing each other looking downwards each holding up striking candelabra torches in different hands. The candelabras above display four elegantly curved arms adorned with fine acanthus leaves and beaded designs leading to the foliate bobeches and fluted candle cups centering the striking removable floral finial which comes off to reveal an additional candle cup. All original gilt and warm patina throughout. Candle Height: 10".
