Storyteller: Mr. Anderson, a successful businessman, and his daughter, Lily, made their home in a stately rural manor. Over the years, Mr. Anderson amassed a collection of rare paintings and priceless vases, which he proudly displayed in his home. Mr. Anderson was perusing an antique shop one day when he stumbled upon a pair of gorgeous French opaline glass lusters. These goblet-shaped lusters were gilded in pink and white-hued glass and hand-made in France between 1850 and 1900. Mr. Anderson bought the lusters without hesitating and carried them home to add to his collection. The moment he set them on the mantel in the living room, they commanded everyone's attention. Pink and white opaline glass sparkled in the sunshine, creating a cozy atmosphere. Like a magnet, Lily was pulled to the lusters and stared at them in awe for hours. She was captivated by the way the light reflected off the glass and highlighted the fine features of the pattern. Seeing her interest, her father proceeded to educate her about the origins of opaline glass and the meaning of its lusters. They put their heads together and discovered that opaline glass was specially designed to create elaborate chandeliers, vases, and other decorative items in the 19th century. The lusters were a priceless artifact that proved the skill and creativity of French glassmakers from the previous century. As time passed, she became more and more interested in the history of the opaline glass lusters and her father's passion for collecting antiques. After Mr. Anderson's passing, Lily inherited the magnificent estate and all of its contents, including the stunning French opaline glass lusters. She cherished them as a tribute to her dad's legacy and as a symbol of the importance of preserving the heritage of antique craftsmanship. The lusters held a special place in her heart, and she kept them proudly on display in the mansion's living room, where she could admire their beauty every day. About the storyteller: Consider the storyteller to be a figment of the vendor's imagination. As to how this tale relates to the actual histories of the artifacts on display, that is a mystery. We sincerely hope that you enjoyed the story. Ash With hope and love.

  • Single Goblet Shaped, Gilded and Painted White Opaline Glass Luster, Late 19th C
    Located in Queens Village, NY
This luster takes the form of a goblet, and it is covered in stunning Islamic and Arabic motifs. There's a good chance that the product was made with the Turkish market in mind. It was created in France between the years 1850 and 1920, but the exact year is unknown. This particular luster has not even the slightest chip or crack in it. Because the artwork is not burned into the glass and some of it has been scratched out through the years, we are unable to come to a consensus regarding how old this item is. The gold and the paintings have both lost some of their color and sparkle as a result of the passage of time. We are selling this beautiful luster on different platforms; please check availability before purchasing. More photos may be provided if necessary. As she examined the goblet, she noticed that it was in perfect condition, with no chips or cracks, and the designs seemed to be etched into the glass. She wondered about its age, and after some research, she discovered that it was made in France between 1850 and 1920, most likely for the Turkish market. However, the exact year of its creation remained a mystery. Excited to show off her new find, Amina invited her friends over for a small gathering. As they admired the goblet's unique decorations and shimmering gold, Amina noticed her friend Ali studying it intently. When she asked if everything was alright, Ali shared a memory from his childhood: his grandfather's ancient Arabic...
