About the Item
This is a Gilt Bronze and Porcelain Bowl Candelabra Centerpiece. It depicts a cobalt blue porcelain bowl mounted in a gilt bronze pedestal made of a reeded column supported by an octagonal shaped base. This base is decorated with long scrolls of branches of acanthus leaves at each side of the column that go all the way up to the bowl and down to the bottom of the pedestal. A semi nude cherub holding up a bunch of grapes is seated above a large acanthus leaves at each side of the pedestal bases. Gilt tiny beads collar adorn the center of the column that is also embellished at each side by C-scrolls of rocailles and a garland of flowers at the bottom. The base of the porcelain bowl is decorated by a gilt bronze nest made of acanthus leaves. The gilt bronze long branches of acanthus leaves at each side of the bowl intertwined with gilt bronze long branches of Lilies flowers and other flowers to made three candle holders that enhance the centerpiece. The border of the porcelain bowl is adorned with a garland of grapes vines. Unrecognized blue marks inside the bowl.
