About the Item
A spectacular and richly detailed true pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. Ormolu candelabras. Each stunning nine arm candelabra is raised on claw feet below richly chased Ormolu foliate scrolls. The scrolls continue up and frame the central shaft adorned with a palmette central reserve on a quatrefoil background. Richly chased foliate garlands cascade downward, with additional garlands leading to the candelabras. Above are the nine scrolled foliate acanthus leaf arms surrounded by elegant swags of berried garlands, leading to the intricately decorated foliate candle cups, saucers, and bobeches.
