About the Item

Modern brass Hanukkah Menorah designed by Maxwell Chayat mounted on a wooden block. Classic modern style of artistry which was known to be Chayat's signature method of designing Hanukah lamps and candlesticks. The first thing you notice is the base of this menorah is the beautifully formed brass at front which looks like a large flame in the shape of a "Shin" letter in the Hebrew alphabet. Main body consists of six curved thin bars that cross at the bottom and curve to different heights to its sides in holding split dome-shaped bobeches with small cylinders in which the candles are placed. At center front to back are three more curved and straight thin bars which also ascend to different heights passing through the center flame. The front two serve as part of the eight candles lit on each day Hanukkah and the one located furthest back and also the tallest bar serves as the servant lamp. Taking in the entire lamp at a short distance you can see how it resembles a full roaring fire with flames licking upward at its sides and the strongest and thickest part of the fire at center.
