Pair of French Sèvres Porcelain Portrait Celeste Blue Ormolu Gilt Table Lamps
About the Item
Stunning pair of French Sèvres soft paste porcelain and gilt metal Ormolu twin handle electric table lamps of traditional urn form, and of good size proportions, raised on four slender outswept supports ending on hoof feet on an ornate inverted square base with four acorn supports, mid to late Nineteenth Century.
The hand painted central reserves each depicting an elegant lady in traditional 18th century costume within a gilded surround, on a celeste blue ground,
Condition: Good condition with no losses to porcelain, small loss to gilding at base of one, see final image. Professionally re-wired for electricity.
Measures: Height (entire as shown on main image) 16.5" (42cm), Width (across arms) 5.25" (13.5cm), Depth (at base) 4.5” (11.5cm).
