18th Century Hand Painted Phoenician Mirrored Wall Sconces

About the Item

An exceptional pair of 18th century Phoenician mirrored wall sconces dating to the 1790s or earlier. Each sconce features original mercury glass and hand painted floral decoration set against a rich green background The form is both rare and elegant designed to hold two candles each. The sconces retain their original backs and one retains its original hanging hook The other shows an early replacement. A historic label from the original source of purchase remains affixed further confirming their age and origin. Circa 1790s, Lebanon.
