About the Item

An unusual pair of three light late Victorian silvered mounted, cut glass candle sconce, stamped F&C OSLER. The arm plate supporting two s shaped thumb cut candle arms these arms centred by a thumb cut column which is surmounted by the third arm, the candle lights with turn over drop hung collars and tulip shaped candle nozzles. Attached to the glass covered silvered back plate, the wall-light richly draped with unusual drops. Osler is perhaps the best-respected name in the world of English glass makers, peerless quality, brilliant mettle, fabulous clients in both Europe and Asia. Often they made enormous, complex, colourful and exotic chandeliers for the Eastern market which sell for fabulous sums. This pair from the Belle Epoque continue the great tradition of taste and quality at every level.
