French Belle Époque Tôle Peinte Hand Painted Metal Floral Wall Sconces, a Pair

About the Item

A charming pair of French Tôle Peinte floral wall sconces, made of hand-painted iron, circa early 1900s. Showing a lovely time-worn patina, the floral bouquets of petaled flowers and green leaves are rooted in a shell form base. Each sconce has two arms terminating in candle holders with a petal form drip pan. A circular back plate is drilled for hanging. The back plate and the candle holders have also been drilled for wiring if desired. Made well with substantial weight. 8 in. W x 10.5 in. H, extending 7 in. from the wall. Losses to the painted surface and light rust as is expected.
