A Pair of Louis XVI Style Wall Appliques Constructed from fire gilded and patinated bronze, with hand-chased details, the pair of wall lights modelled as two bacchanalian terms of youths, each holding up two arms complete with bobèches and candleholders. French, circa 1890 A similar pair of this design at Compiègne belonged to King Louis XVI of France, which can now be seen in the Musée Cognacq-Jay, Paris. Dimensions: H: 12.5 in / 32 cm W: 10 in / 25 cm D: 6 in / 15 cm Comparative literature: Ottomeyer, Hans, Peter Pröschel, and Jean-Dominique Augarde.
