Pair of 18th Century Gilded & Mirrored Glass Venetian Altar, Candlesticks

About the Item

An exceptional pair of early 18th-century gilded and mirrored etched glass Venetian altar - candlesticks. Of triangular form, demonstrating insets of original etched mirror glass to reflect light, a fabulous addition to this elegant design. Surmounted with metal leaf crowns. The triangular section shaped columns with palmette and foliate scrollwork carving, on tripod bases with shell carving. Four vertical sections of inlaid, original etched mirror plate on each horizontal triangular plane. Displaying a lovely patina throughout. c.1720 Measures: Height - 54 cm Width - 13.5 cm Depth - 12 cm.
