About the Item
1950s, Sweden. Candlestick holders crafted in the shape of flower buds are in excellent condition and feature the Ystad Metall stamp on the bottom. Designed by Gunnar Ander (1927-2002), a prominent Swedish industrial designer, his collaboration with Ystad Metall helped the company become a leading lighting manufacturer in mid-century Sweden. Ander also created designs for furniture, glassware, and other products for brands like Svenskt Tenn, Boda Nova, and Gense. In 1987, he was honored with the Swedish Royal Medal for Merit for his contributions to Swedish design.
