About the Item
A finely crafted pair of 19th-century neo-Gothic altar candlesticks, cast with a rich dark patina. Each candlestick stands on a square base with pointed arch decoration, raised on three small feet, and features an openwork niche on each side. The twisted column shaft rises to a circular pricket holder with original spikes for securing candles.
Their symmetrical form and elaborate Gothic revival detailing reflect the 19th-century fascination with medieval art and architecture, making them both decorative and historically significant pieces.
