Antique French Louie XV Gilt Bronze Candlestick

About the Item

A stunning antique French, Louis XV period ormolu gilded bronze candlestick in the Rococo style. Exceptionally modeled, the detachable nozzle fitting into a cast sconce with leaves and scrolls, over an inverted baluster shaft with heavily patterned scrolling motifs to a wide foot richly cast with rocailles and further scrolls, raised on three feet. French, circa 1750. Overall very good, the candlestick is in good condition with crisp casting and with no splits, there is evidence of an old repair, the piece stands well and has a great appearance.
