Antique Pair of Candle Holder Sterling Silver Rococo Style Candlesticks, 1820s

About the Item

Antique silver, a pair of Rococo-style silver candlesticks, pressed, cast and chased. Circular, curved feet with hinged. This pair of large antique silver candlesticks was made in the early 19th century and is a hugely impressive example from the Georgian era, featuring beautiful Rococo decoration of flowers and oak leaves among swirling scrolls. The profuse decoration is particularly impressive, with high relief detail, all in exceptionally good and crisp condition. They were tested with the scratch test, with height approx—all-encompassing C-curves in relief, latticework, rocailles, tendrils of flowers and matching cartouches. Highly collectable and valuable. A beautiful pair of very decorative electroplated candlesticks with ornate motifs. Made in England. Sheffield. Perfect for supper tables or mantelpieces! Takes a 2cm diameter taper candle. Measurements H23cm W11.5cm In a beautifully excellent condition.
