FINE PAIR OF LATE 17TH CENTURY, PERSONALISED, FLEMISH, BRASS CANDLESTICKS WITH PRICKETS, POSSIBLY A LOVE TOKEN AS INSCRIBED WITH A HEART MOTIF AND INITIALS - Personalised : The bottom edge of one side is incised to form a heart & the initials N & D & scrollwork - Characteristic form of the period and unsusually personalized with inscribed initials either side of a heart: motif virtually worn away on one stick and worn but distinguishable on the other - Inject period atmosphere and charm into the interior - Original condition and patina. - Sturdy, usable condition. - Provenance : Private collection. Measures: Height to top of pricket : 38cm., 14 inches Height to top of candlestick rim 34.5cm., 13½ inches Length from foot-to-foot 13cm., 5inches.
