English 19th Century Gilt Bronze and Lapis Lazuli Scagliola Candlesticks

About the Item

A pair of English candlesticks in gilded bronze and imitation blue lapis lazuli scagliola; the circular gilt bronze bases sit on four lion’s paw feet; the stem is also of scagliola which supports two detachable candle arms and central finial all in finely chased and gilded bronze. The lapis lazuli scagllola is modern work that probably replaced original cut crystal elements which must have been broken or lost.
