These exceptional antique Edwardian English sterling silver candlesticks have a plain square form in the classic Arts and Crafts style. The plain hallmarked waisted cylindrical capitals of these antique silver candlesticks surmount circular rounded drip pans. The capitals are supported by plain faceted tapering columns embellished with a broad band of rivet decoration to the lower portion. The square base of each candlestick is embellished with a continuation of applied rivet style decoration to the corners. The plain cylindrical capital of each silver candlestick is plain and encircled with an applied moulded border to the rim. The capitals retain the original hallmarked push fit sconces, ornamented to the rim with chased leaf decoration. The waisted column of each candlestick is embellished with chased leaf decoration to a large compressed circular knop, in addition to leaf motifs enveloping the lower portion. These impressive columns surmountcircular spreading bases, each ornamented with four large palmette style leaf designs, with further applied foliate decoration to the rim.
