MID 18th CENTURY PAIR OF GOLDEN WOOD CANDLESTICKS

About the Item

This pair of table candlesticks is a fine example of Tuscan manufacturing from the mid-18th century. Made of carved wood and finely gilded in pure gold, these candlesticks exhibit high craftsmanship and refined aesthetic taste. Their "tablet" silhouette indicates a typical characteristic of the Baroque period, which developed extensively in the 17th century and continued to influence 18th century design. This particular shape, which resembles a small table, is supported on the back by metal parts, which give solidity and stability to the object. The wood carving displays finely crafted details, such as floral motifs, intertwined leaves and sinuous scrolls. These decorative elements are arranged in a symmetrical and harmonious order throughout the candelabra, lending a sense of balance and beauty to the entire composition. Finally, the pure gold gilded finish gives splendor and brightness to the object, creating an elegant and refined effect. Measurements: HxWxD 66 x 40 x 7cm.
