18th CENTURY NEOCLASSIC PERIOD PAIR VASES FOR PALM TREE

About the Item

This pair of vase palm holders is ascribed to Tuscan manufacture from the neoclassical period (18th century). They are made of carved wood and painted with a lean tempera, which gives a sober and elegant appearance to the object. Furthermore, they are enriched with pure gold leaf decorations, which add a touch of luxury and refinement. On the top of the objects there are candle holders in the shape of an olive branch, a Christian symbol of peace and hope, made of hand-forged iron and with traces of gilding. Usually, these objects were used as palm holders or candlesticks inside churches. Measurements: HxWxD 82 x 18.5x 19cm.
