18th CENTURY NEOCLASSICAL MIRROR
About the Item
This refined mirror is made of carved pine wood and subsequently gilded with pure gold leaf, giving it an extremely elegant appearance. Every detail is taken care of down to the smallest detail, from the small feet with zoomorphic heads to the large phytomorphic spirals. On the lower sides there are eagles, while in the upper part there are two putti holding the cymatium. The latter culminates with a delicate amphora. The mirror fully represents the taste and style typical of the Florentine neoclassicist period. Its provenance could be associated with the rooms of the Pitti Palace, as it is presented in the characteristic style of late 18th century furnishings, which can be observed in the rooms of the Florentine palace. Thanks also to its imposing dimensions, the object takes on a high level of artistic value.
