About the Item

Pair of vintage hand blown hurricane shades. The shades are reproductions of antique shades found in the upstairs hall of the Governors Palace in historic Williamsburg, Virginia. The shades were hand blown by Royal Leerdam. In the 1976 edition of the Williamsburg Reproductions catalog, the shades are model number CW 9. The shades and other reproductions were sold at the Craft House in Williamsburg to raise money for the Williamsurg Restoration Fund. These shades were probably produced in the 1970's. The shades are nearly identical, standing 14 inches tall, 5 inches in outside diameter at the top, 5 7/8 inches outside diameter at the bottom and 4 7/8 inches in inside diameter at the bottom.

    Wear consistent with age and use. The shades are in good vintage condition. There are not chips, scratches, cracks or discoloration. The shades are hand blown so there are some slight irregularities and some air bubbles.
