Pair of 18th Century French Louis XV Carved Giltwood Altar Candlesticks

About the Item

Make a dramatic statement on your dining table with this pair of large, antique candlesticks. Carved in France, circa 1780, the decorative altar sticks sit on scroll feet, and have exquisite carvings with circular scalloped edges, metal bobeches, and carved acanthus leaves. The candleholders have an interesting, luxurious two-tone finish due to combined layers of gesso and gold leaf. The impressive, rounded stands are in excellent condition with a well maintained gilt finish. Measures: Height 45.5".
