Pair of Austrian Terracotta Seahorse Wiener Werkstätte-Era Candlesticks

About the Item

Here's a wonderful and whimsical pair of terracotta candlesticks made in Austria (signed) during the Wiener Werkstätte era. The design, clay and painting technique are very similar to the work of Kitty Rix and Vally Wieselthier, two of the great ceramists of the Wiener Werkstätte. The pair is in very good condition with perhaps just minor roughness in spots typical of terracotta ceramics.
